Production bugs are notoriously hard to fix. You can’t usually recreate the exact environment or scale in which the bug happened. Reproducing the bug can be nearly impossible. The bug may be manifested in one place in the code, but the root cause can be somewhere completely different. It might even be in a different module, microservice, or serverless function that triggers the bug and then disappears. Usually, we resort to log files, but you never have the logs you need, so you have to add more logs and rebuild, redeploy, reproduce and try again…often, several times over.
