How to Hard Reset an Apple Airport Extreme or Apple Time Capsule

Description: In this video we look at how you can hard reset either an Apple AirPort Extreme or Apple Time Capsule. You would use the hard reset option to return your base station back to an un-configured state.

However, unlike a factory reset, a hard reset will retain the last saved configuration and profile for the device. This will allow you to restore your base station from a previous setting.

In this video we specifically show you how to hard reset an AirPort Extreme. However, the same process is used to hard reset an Apple Time Capsule.
