How to replace and install a video card in a computer. Relax, it's pretty easy.

We are using a Windows 10 based computer and a nVidia video card in this video, but the process is the same for any OS and any video card.

Do this at your own risk! There's always a chance something will go wrong, so if you are uncomfortable, have a qualified PC repair person do this for you.

Make sure you have the proper cables for your new card. For example, if you are using DVI now, and upgrading to a card with HDMI - you'll need HDMI cables to connect to your monitor.

The card we are using is a NVIDIA Quadro M4000 with 4 DisplayPort outputs.

If your current video card is not using a 6 pin power port, but your new card needs it AND you don't have a 6 pin power port from your Power Supply, you can buy an adapter that connects to a Molex plug, if one is not provided with your new card.

Once your new video card is installed, Windows 10 will automatically install a compatible driver, but it's a good idea to head to the manufacture's website and install the latest driver.

If you're changing port type (DVI to HDMI for example) make sure you change the input mode on your monitor(s) as well.

If you run into any problems, consult the user manual for your computer.
