This is the easiest and safest method for unlocking the SGS2 from AT&T. You'll just need is a non-AT&T sim (even borrowed from someone is alright).

Step 1: Get your IMEI for your phone. It'll be on the box your phone came in and also on the phone, under the battery. You can also type *#06# on the phone keypad and the IMEI will show up.
Step 2: Go to www.Cellunlocker.net and enter the make, model, carrier and IMEI for your phone. The IMEI should be a 15 digit string, enter it carefully. Once Cellunlocker.net has this number, they will supply you with your unique unlock code by email.
Step 3: Put the non-AT&T sim in your phone and restart it. A box to enter your code will come up automatically. Enter your code carefully. If you enter the wrong code, or the code for someone elses phone, you may loose your chance to unlock it.
