Private DNS uses DNS-over-TLS to provide security and privacy for your DNS queries.
Private DNS is only available on Android 9, 10, and 11.
Below are examples of Private DNS provider hostnames:
- dns.google
- one.one.one.one (Cloudflare)
- 1dot1dot1dot.cloudflare-dns.com
- dns.quad9.net
- dns.adguard.com
You may need to test these DNS providers to see which one works best for you in terms of speed.
1. Open your smartphone's settings.
2. Open Network & internet or Connections.
3. Open Advanced or More connection settings.
4. Tap on Private DNS.
5. Select Private DNS provider hostname.
6. Enter a private DNS provider hostname, like dns.google or one.one.one.one or dns.quad9.net or another DNS provider.
7. Tap on Save.
