Set or Change the Security Code for the Samsung Galaxy S® III Mini

Welcome to AT&T "How To" videos.

Today, we will show you how to set or change the Security Code for the Samsung Galaxy S® III Mini.

Please Note: Creating a screen lock will make your phone inaccessible if you are unable to verify the security information. If forgotten, a pattern lock can be changed using the Google® account name and password associated with the device, or with the backup PIN. A master reset will be required to regain access to your phone if any other screen lock security cannot be validated.

To begin, drag down the notification bar, and then tap Settings. Please Note: Alternatively, from the Home screen, press the Menu key, and then tap Settings.

Next, from the "My device" tab, tap Lock screen.

Now tap Screen lock. Please Note: If a security is already enabled, you will be prompted to enter the existing code before proceeding.

Here tap the desired screen lock security type.

Swipe, allows you to swipe to unlock the screen.

Face Unlock, allows you to use facial recognition to unlock the screen.
To utilize this option.
First tap Next.
Tap Set it up.
Tap Continue.
Now align your face inside the dots on the screen.
After the face has been scanned, tap Continue.
As a back-up option, you will also need to setup a Pattern or PIN lock code.
Tap OK.

Face and voice, allows you to use facial recognition and speak to unlock the screen.
To utilize this option
First tap Next.
Tap Set it up.
Tap Continue.
Align your face inside the dots on the screen.
After the face has been scanned, tap Continue.
Tap and then say a 3-5 syllable word 4 times.
Tap Done.
As a back-up option, you will also need to setup a Pattern or PIN lock code.
Tap OK.

Pattern, allows you to use a traced pattern to unlock the screen.
To utilize this option
First, tap Next.
Trace the desired pattern, and then tap Continue.
Retrace the pattern, and then tap Confirm.
Enter the desired backup PIN when pattern unlock is not recognized.
Tap Continue.
Re-enter the PIN code, and then tap OK.

PIN, allows you to use a PIN code to unlock your screen
Enter the desired PIN code, and then tap Continue.
Re-enter the PIN code, and then tap OK.

Password, allows you to use alphanumeric password to unlock the screen.
To utilize this option
First, enter the desired password, and then tap Continue.
Re-enter the password, and then tap OK.

To utilize the None option, simply tap to remove security.

Also you have the option to adjust the time-out period. Simply, tap Secured lock time to adjust. Please Note: Not all security options allow the screen time-out period to be adjusted.

Your settings will automatically be saved. Press the Home key to return to the home screen.
