This works for Galaxy s3, s4, s5, Note 2, Note 3, Note 4 & Note Edge. However in this video I demonstrate with a S5. In order to connect to your TV with the MHL cable adapter you will need a TV (or any monitor or protector) that has a HDMI port, the Mhl adapter itself, & a HDMI Cable. You will be able to display where ever is on your phone screen to your TV (or monitor, projector, etc). You will be able to play games, watch netflix, hbo go, pandora, photos, videos, browse websites, etc.
