Curious about data science and want to see the amazing things it can achieve, before committing to learn more?
In this workshop, one of WDSS's experienced teaching leads will show you how to model historic football data to generate predictions for the outcomes of future games. With the support of teaching assistants in breakout rooms, there is no simpler way to get a taste of what data science can do.
No coding experience is required and no software needs to be installed, so there really is no simpler way to be introduced to data science.
The workshop will make use of the programming language R to collect historic football, build a statistical model to explain the trends, and then use this to predict the outcomes for new matches.
