Reset Device.
Power Cycle:
There are multiple ways
to reset your device
if you are experiencing issues.
The first is to
perform a Power Cycle.
To turn the device off,
press and hold the
Power/Lock button
on the top left of the device.
Slide the screen down
to power off.
The device will take a moment
to power off.
To turn the device back on,
press and hold the
Power/Lock button.
The device will take a moment
to power on.
Restart:
If a Power Cycle
doesn't fix the issue,
try performing a
device restart.
Select the Windows icon,
then select the Power icon.
Select "Restart".
The device will take
a moment to restart.
Factory Reset:
A Factory Reset will erase
all information on the device
and return it to
factory default settings.
There are two different
Factory Reset methods:
Microsoft and Samsung resets.
Both modes permanently erase
all personal data, preferences,
settings and content
that is saved to the device.
It is recommended
that you backup important data
before proceeding.
The device must be plugged in
to perform a Factory Reset.
A Microsoft Reset will
completely wipe the device,
but keep all Windows updates
after the reset.
Also, if you have
previously disabled S Mode,
it will keep S Mode disabled.
From the Home screen,
select the Windows icon.
Select the Settings icon.
Select "Update and Security".
Select "Recovery",
select "GET STARTED"
under Reset this PC.
Select the desired option
and follow the prompts
to begin the
Microsoft Factory Reset.
The device will take
a moment to reset.
A Samsung Factory Reset
will completely wipe the device
and remove all Windows updates.
It also will enable S Mode.
From the Home screen,
select the Windows icon.
Select the Settings icon.
Select "Update and Security".
Select "Recovery",
select "RESTART NOW"
under Advance Startup,
select "Troubleshoot",
select "Reset this PC".
Select the desired option.
The device will take
a moment to reset.
Alternate Factory Reset:
If unable to perform the
standard Master Reset
using the previous steps,
try the alternate method by
first powering the device off.
With your device powered off,
press and hold the
Power/Lock button
and press the Fbutton
until you see "Please wait"
at the bottom of the screen.
Select "Troubleshoot",
select "Reset this PC."
Select the desired option.
Select the desired option.
Select "RESET" to confirm.
